In support of Ukrainian Newcomers

In support of Ukrainian Newcomers

Did you know …..???

In support of Ukrainian Newcomers, Hot Chocolates and Cakebread Artisan Bakery on 5th Street in Courtenay currently have a supply of Perogies (Varenyky).

No matter how you pronounce these delicacies, at $10 (Perogies) a dozen, they are yummy.  Made by volunteers in an Island Health inspected  facility with Food Safe supervision, this is an opportunity to support our newest citizens and sample the authenticity of a Ukrainian kitchen.

We often sell out fast so keep an eye on social media or give the shop a call.

A 'Pawfect' Chance for fame!

A 'Pawfect' Chance for fame!

What could dogs, calendars, photographs and chocolate possible have in common? Let us explain!! Operation Freedom Paws (visit their website at info@ofpcanada.org) is holding a contest... Submit a picture of your dog (that's the dog and photograph connection) and if it's chosen as one of the "top dog" pics, your pooch could end up on a calendar to be admired by thousands! (that's the calendar piece).  Where does chocolate come into this equation? Well, Hot Chocolates is proud to be one of the sponsors of this unique non-profit that assists in rehabilitating and training rescue dogs to provide companionship and assistance to folks with PTSD and/or various medical conditions.  Along with your favourite "pooch pose", send an entry fee of $20 and keep your fingers crossed that your canine buddy is one of the top 12 for the 2023 calendar. For more info on the contest, visit https://www.gogophotocontest.com/ofpcanada

YANA's Valley Vonka and the Hot Chocolates Factory is Back!

Who doesn't love a Treasure Hunt?  Especially when the Treasure includes a Mt. Washington family pass, gift certificates from the Old House Hotel and Spa, Locals Restaurant, Kingfisher Oceanside Resort Spa and Restaurant; $1,000 spending spree at Canadian Tire OR Quality Foods; $1,000 gas card from Peninsula Coop.

Valley Vonka and the chocolatiers at Hot Chocolates have been busy producing hundreds of delicious chocolate bars.
